PHILOSOPHY OF THE PROGRAM

Performance management is a strategic and integrated approach to delivering sustained success to organizations by improving the performance of the people who work in them and by developing the capabilities of teams and individual contributors.
The real concept of performance management is associated with an approach to creating a shared vision of the purpose and aims of the organization, helping each employee understand and recognize their part in contributing to them, and in so doing, manage and enhance the performance of both individuals and the organization.
This performance management program prepares participants both from consulting and training perspectives. The consulting part gives a detailed overview on Performance management philosophy, the different existing approaches and PM systems, processes. At the end of this session the participants will have a checklist: what information they need before designing a PM training, how they can obtain and use this information. The training part introduces the different possible performance management training blocks in practice.
CONTENT OF THE PROGRAM
- Performance management philosophy, system, process, etc.
- Competency systems and PM: turning competencies into observable behaviors
- Goal setting (organizational, team, individual)
- Managing day to day performance (one on ones, team review meetings, with reference to performance coaching, motivation, feedback)
- Performance evaluation (organizational, team, individual)
- Performance review discussion
- Performance appraisal (mistakes in evaluations, different evaluation schemes, etc.)
- Managers/employees necessary skills for successfully managing performance within the system
WHAT CAN BE ACHIEVED
As a result of attending this program participants can:
- Map the client’s PM system: what kind of system they use, what are the elements,…
- Survey employees and managers relation towards the PM and its system
- Put that concrete hard and soft information into context
- Build up a tailor made, specific PM training program relevant for the client’s needs and situation
- Run successfully the different program blocks/modules of a PM training (theoretical parts and exercises)
